Juice and Fresh Fruit.
Black Currants are a superfood, extremely high in Vitamin C and anti-oxidants. Best grown in morning sun and afternoon shade, the deciduous shrubs will grow around 2m tall x 1m wide. Most fruit is produced on 1 year old stems. It is important to prune out 2 year old wood every winter, maintaining the shrub's vigour and productivity. Flowers open along the stems in spring and the fruit ripens in summer.
Fun fact: You can always identify a Black Currant by rubbing the tip of the stems....the aroma is a strong black currant perfume.
