Fresh fruit, cooking, jams, pies and sauces.
Very large fruit, often starting to ripen at christmas and cropping until late summer. A vigorous shrub to approx. 1m with new branches suckering up from the base. Clusters of white, bell-flowers appear in spring. The fruit are large and dark powdery blue skinned with a delicious flavour when eaten fresh. Can be frozen. Very high in antioxidants. Super health food. The leaves turn rich russett red in autumn - highly ornamental.
Partially self-fertile. Much bigger crops when planted with 2 other varieties.
