This is also known as the "Showy Crab Apple" and for very good reason. The tree's stems are covered with flowers from mid September until early October. Massed clusters of rosy pink buds open to pale pink flowers which then mature to white....an absolutely spectacular show. Any fruit which may be produced is small and insignificant.
A small tree approx. 5m tall and wide, rounded shape and branching low. Moderate to fast rate of growth.
Full sun to partial shade, most soils. Heat and cold tolerant.
Excellent in the Canberra region, like all Crab Apples.
Take great care transplanting new season trees as the root system is very delicate and will not be established until late November. Alternatively, you may leave the tree in its pot until then.
