The iconic Canadian Sugar Maple. Luckily for us, it won’t grow as big here as in Canada. The Sugar Maple is still a large and stately tree reaching heights if 15m and a spread of 8m over 20 years or so. Large mid green, lobed leaves turn spectacular tones of gold, copper and red in Autumn. The sugary sap is “tapped” and harvested in spring to become the highly prized Mapey Syrup.
