Used mainly for Jams, preserves and cooking. Also eaten fresh.
Old World, Heirloom from 1600's England. Fun fact: these cherries were on the dining table of King Henry VIII and Queen Elizabeth I. Very early ripening sour cherry esteemed for preserves, jam and makes the best Cherry pies. Bright red skin with very pale coloured flesh. The trees are extremely tough, productive, prolific and compact, growing 2-3m.
Self fertile. No pollinator required.
