Also known as the “Crazy Filbert”. This shrub was discovered in a Gloucestershire hedgerow in the early 1860’s. I has the most amazing, corkscrew-like twisted stems and is particularly spectacular in late winter when draped with the pendulous male flowers (catkins). A multi-stemmed deciduous shrub to approx. 3m tall and 2m wide. Morning sun, dappled shade. Keep out of hot and drying summer wind.
