An excellent variety producing good crops of large, thin-shelled hazelnuts with an excellent and sweet flavour.
Hazelnuts require a well composted soil and ample summer water. They perform very well in morning sun or lightly dappled shade.
Pollination is complex - three varieties are usually needed. Cosford is a very good pollinator this variety. Red Aveline or American White as well.
