Fresh fruit, cooking, jams and wine making.
An old favourite. Slow growing small tree to approx. 4m in 10-15 years. The fruit emerges with the new leaves in spring and develops into long, thick (thumb size) very juicy reddish black berries. The flavour is delightfully sweet/acid. Mulberries are very productive trees, hardy and highly ornamental, providing great shade.
Self fertile. No pollinator is needed.
Ripens late spring/early summer.
