Fresh fruit, jam and wine.
A strong and fast growing medium sized, very productive tree. In the Canberra region it can grow to 5m in 10 years. The young fruit emerges with the first leaves in spring and develop into long greenish-cream coloured berries with a very sweet flavour.
Self fertile. No pollinator needed.
Ripens late spring/early summer.
Fun Fact: Native to China. The leaves from this tree is what silk worms eat (not from the black mulberry). Makes a great project for young children and adults alike!
