A truly incredible Itoh hybrid. Deep rose buds open to semi double blooms of orange and apricot which are flushed purple at the edges and mature to yellow. All three colours can be seen at once on a mature plant - spectacular. Very free flowering, with blooms to 15cm across having a spicy fragrance. October flowering.
Itoh Peonies are the "impossible hybrid" - a cross between Tree Peonies and Herbaceous Peonies. They carry the best characteristics of both parents - Large flowers (from Tree Peony) standing upright and proud on strong stems (Herbaceous Peony). They generally flower a bit later than the Tree Peonies and a bit earlier than Herbaceous.
Morning sun, afternoon sun, full sun. Very rich, well- manured and composted alkaline soil. Dig in 2 cups of Garden Lime when planting.
