The Small Leafed Lime (Linden) is a beautiful tree to approx 8m tall and 5m wide (over 20 years) in the Canberra region.
It is a conical shape when young, developing a spreading and rounded crown with maturity. Leaves are heart-shaped, mid green and turn clear butter yellow in thee autumn. Pendulous, yellow flowers which have a delicious honey fragrance appear in early summer (November/December) and the bees love them! The flowers also make a traditional herbal remedy - soothing and fragrant tea.
Full sun to partial shade, preferably on well composted and moist soils.
